Con: These mounts are typcally designed with manufacture propriety specifically for your model of Picture Frame TV. When shopping for generic picture frame mounts it’s crucial to verify compatibility with your specific model TV.

Interior/Exterior

Consider the mounting location. Exterior mountings where the mount will be exposed to drastic changes in temperature, elements, and higher humidity a mount designed for exterior use will last longer and avoid corrosion.

Single-stud vs. Double-stud Full-Motion Mounts

Single-stud

Pro: May offer more swivel range of motion. Some manufactures only offer single-stud mounts for TVs less than 50″.

Con: Placement of TV is limited to where your studs are located in the wall. These are better suited for areas where you don’t mind if the TV is placed or centered exactly in a specific area. Not as secure for heavier TVs.

Double-stud

Pro: Offers more flexibility and ability to get TV mounted to a specific measurement side to side. Best option for centering TV side-to-side in an area. Allows you to hang your TV onto two studs.

Cons: May not offer as wide a range of swivel motion as single-stud mounts.

Tip: Mounts that are designed for 24″ stud spans will offer more flexibility on side-to-side placement and likelihood of getting your TV centered precisely vs. mounts that are limited to 16″ stud spans. The 16″ stud span mounts are better for TV’s less than 50″ to avoid exposing the mount past the perimeter of the TV.
